Our Top 5 Library Tips for Academic Success

1. Meet with the Librarian!  As soon as you're assigned a research paper or project, schedule an appointment with the librarian. The librarian can help you refine and narrow your topic, locate print and online sources, and create citations in any citation style.

2. Need to get some studying done off campus? You can access all the online library resources by logging into the campus VPN network or proxy server!

3. Check out LibGuides - Online research guides, or LibGuides, are a one-stop shop for research in any academic subject.  Some LibGuides are tailored toward a specific course, while others apply to a subject in general. LibGuides are particularly useful during times when the librarian is not immediately available!

4. Utilize our Online Video Library - The Librarian has created a library of short instructional videos to help you learn information literacy skills, such as how to use specific databases, create an annotated bibliography, and write literature reviews.  Don't see a video you need?  Email the Librarian to suggest one be created!

5. Visit the Learning Resource Center - Looking for help with writing or APA format?  Need a tutor for a particular course or subject?  Visit the Learning Resource Center, located on the 2nd floor of the library.  Or check out their website and fill out a Learning Center Request form to book an appointment.
